Here is some Basic Info for New Sweepstakers

Ready to get started winning sweepstakes?

Step #1 Create a Sweepstakes Email. This email will isolate your wins to one inbox and catch all the extra newsletter and keep them out of your personal inbox. Avoid using terms like sweepstakes, sweeper, win, sweeps, etc to red flag your self as a “sweeper”. o get started create a sweepstakes e-mail separate from your personal e-mail address. Avoid including the words “sweeps”, “sweepstakes”, “winner” or anything similar in your sweepstakes e-mail address. After you have made a separate e-mail address, you’ll be ready to try some instant win games.

Step #2 Try some instant win games. Most new sweepstakers like to get started with instant win games. They often provide immediate gratification and an easy win. You can find our full list of instant win games here. This database is updated weekly. The newest instant win games are located here.

Step #3 Go like Sweepstakes Mama on Facebook and follow on Twitter for the hottest sweepstakes news!

Step #4  After are you accustomed to instant win games, create bookmarks for daily sweepstakes. When you bookmark a sweepstakes be sure to add the end date to the title sweepstakes. To bookmark quickly, click ctrl and D, to save it to your bookmarks (or favorites in some browsers) folder. You will want to bookmark all sweepstakes and instant win games that require more than one entry. Daily sweepstakes are those that accept entries each day, which you may want to enter repetitively to increase your chances of winning. You can create a folder for each day of the week for weekly entry sweepstakes, Twitter sweepstakes, Pinterest, sweepstakes, instant win games, etc.

Here is an example of my bookmark folders:

The folders with a different day of the week are my weekly entries. I have a folder for weekly entries, 24 hour entries (those on a specific clock), and then I have organized them by importance to me and end date. When you bookmark a new sweepstakes, be sure to include the end date in its title for easier management.

Be sure to bookmark SweepstakesMama.com sweepstakes for easy entry reminders!

Get started using the above steps and you’ll be winning sweepstakes soon too!

Good luck!

How many sweeps do you enter a day and do you ever enter blogs? I enter blogs and win about once a week but it is usually $20 – $50 items which I love but want to win something….BIGGER :)

  10. Stefani says:

Hmmm, I did create a new email just for sweeps. I don’t have any words about winning or sweeps but I wonder if having 2013 will keep me from being chosen ? Do you think it could.

Also, if I had his permission, would it be unethical of me to enter my husband into sweepstakes as well ? Could we get disqualified if they found out I was filling out sweepstakes for my husband while he is at work ?

    • Hi Stefani,

2013 should be fine. That year could be significant for any reason. You may enter him in sweeps if the entry is one per person, and not one per household. Entering for your spouse gets tricky for this reason. Be sure to check official rules if you’re entering for your husband too, to be sure you won’t disqualify yourself in the process.

      • Stefani says:

Oh yes, I will definitely check to make sure we wouldn’t get disqualified.

I suppose my other question is, if I only have so much time to do sweeping ( say two hours a day), would it be better to enter once as myself and then go back again with my husband’s info, or to spend the extra time entering other sweepstakes with only my info ?

  11. Delia Mrazik says:

I’m 90 years old and I thought I would like to enter some sweeps as I certainly have the time but I don’t know if I can follow the directions corrwctly. But I would like to try. I can’t think of another E Mail name.

  14. Jacqueline says:

I have a question about filling out the forms. Do you use Roboform? autofill? I have been using autofill but heard that some of the magazine sweeps may disqualify you because it looks like you are doing some automated program because you can do them so fast and so many at a time. Also if you win a prize from one of the magazines are you disqualified from winning from another magazine because they are all owned by one parent company?

    • Hi Jacqueline! I do use Roboform! I have won TONS of magazine sweepstakes. You will notice that Roboform typically does not fill out all spots on the entry form. Also, you will still have to manually reject the magazine offer and accept the official rules by hand. Some magazines have limits on how often you can win, but most are one prize per month or per promotion or even per day. It will vary from contest to contest. If you win one one magazine, you are not eliminated from sweepstakes from other magazines. Be sure to check out our magazine sweepstakes list for a full list of magazines that often offer giveaways.

      • jacqueline says:

Thanks so much for sharing your tips. I think I am going to invest in roboform since I am starting to enter about 200 sweeps a day. My husband calls it my second job!!!

        • Candy says:

A great investment! Remember to share your wins with us on our Facebook page to be entered in our fan exclusive giveaways!

  15. jacqueline says:
